At CES 2025, OPTIX, a leading optical technology company based in Beijing, introduced two groundbreaking innovations in the augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) space: the EPIC 50 AR waveguide module and an upgraded foveated rendering feature for its 8K Pancake optical module. These developments demonstrate OPTIX’s commitment to advancing optical technologies and enhancing user experiences.
The EPIC 50 AR waveguide module, designed to meet the growing demand for AR glasses, offers a 50-degree field of view (FoV) and delivers high-efficiency, full-color display performance. This module is poised to enhance AR glasses with broader visual fields and improved image clarity, marking a significant leap in the quality of AR devices. With the rise of AI-powered smart glasses, the EPIC 50 is set to play a key role in the next generation of consumer electronics.
Alongside the AR innovation, OPTIX unveiled an upgraded version of its 8K Pancake optical module for VR devices. This module now features a new foveated rendering technology that utilizes eye-tracking to optimize GPU performance. The 8K resolution, combined with a 115-degree ultra-wide field of view (FoV), offers a visual experience comparable to Apple’s Vision Pro headset. The module also includes diopter adjustment ranging from 0 to 8D, providing users with a customized and high-quality VR experience.
The foveated rendering feature enhances VR performance by focusing GPU power on the area the user is looking at, reducing strain on the device’s GPU. This innovative solution helps maintain full 8K resolution while improving interactivity and adaptability, allowing for a more immersive and responsive experience.
In addition to these key products, OPTIX also showcased a variety of optical technologies at CES 2025, such as the Integrated Myopia Waveguide, Vari-focal Lenses, and All-in-One Pancake Lens. These innovations highlight OPTIX’s focus on advancing optical solutions to meet the evolving needs of AR and VR industries.
Gary Yan, Founder and CEO of OPTIX, emphasized the company’s mission to continue driving innovation in AR and VR technologies to meet consumer demands and set new industry standards.
