The Cotocon Group, based in Hicksville, is debuting a new mobile app, The Carbon Shield, designed to track a building’s energy and carbon usage. Aimed at building owners, managers, and board members, the app provides real-time oversight of energy use, detects leaks, and supports sustainability efforts and cost savings.
Jimmy Carchietta, CEO of The Carbon Shield and founder of The Cotocon Group, highlighted the app’s significance: “The launch of The Carbon Shield marks a significant step forward in energy monitoring and sustainability. Our goal is to equip building owners and managers with tools to efficiently manage utilities and comply with New York City sustainability laws while protecting their assets.”
The Carbon Shield app allows users to monitor electric, gas, water, steam, and oil usage, and provides updates on compliance with local regulations. It aims to optimize resource allocation and minimize utility waste, offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional energy management services.
Initially available on the Apple Store for iOS starting August 19, the app integrates with major utilities such as Con-Ed, Utility API, and National Grid across the country.
The Cotocon Group, with additional offices in Manhattan and Fort Lauderdale, specializes in energy reduction, decarbonization, and regulatory compliance. They are a primary energy consultant for NYSERDA’s New Construction Initiatives and a Technical Assistance Efficiency partner of PSEG Long Island.
