Kaeser Upgrades Compressed Air System Management

Kaeser Compressors has introduced Kaeser Measurement Technology (KMT), a new suite of intelligent sensors designed to enhance compressed air system performance through real-time data insights.

Timothy Hitzges, System Integrator at Kaeser Compressors, emphasizes the importance of effective monitoring in today’s data-driven manufacturing environment. KMT provides users with in-depth understanding of their compressed air systems, helping them make informed decisions to improve efficiency and reduce energy costs.

KMT boasts several key features:

  1. Universal Connectivity: Utilizing Power over Ethernet, KMT simplifies installation and reduces cabling expenses. It integrates seamlessly with the Kaeser Sigma Network, offering true Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) capabilities.
  2. Versatility: The system is adaptable for various applications, including high-pressure booster systems, eliminating the need for multiple vendors and streamlining system management.
  3. Real-Time Data Streaming: The Energy Analyzer and Flow Analyzers provide real-time insights into system operations, enhancing overall performance monitoring.
  4. Actionable Insights: Specific data points from the system can trigger automated actions. For example, the Ambient Analyzer, with additional logic controllers and wiring, can monitor room temperature and adjust inlet or exhaust dampers to optimize conditions.
  5. Advanced Monitoring and Control: KMT data integrates with the Kaeser Sigma Air Manager 4.0 (SAM 4.0) for superior control. It also supports Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU connectivity, enabling integration with existing industrial and building automation systems.

Hitzges notes that traditional compressed air monitoring solutions often provide limited data, but KMT offers a comprehensive view of system health. This wealth of information, when integrated with SAM 4.0, gives customers valuable performance indicators for making data-driven decisions and optimizing their compressed air operations.
