IBM and HCLTech Open AI Centers in US, UK, and India

IBM and HCLTech have joined forces to establish a Generative AI Centre of Excellence across multiple global sites including the US, UK, and India. The primary goal of these centers is to assist companies in advancing their journey with Generative AI, enabling them to experiment with various use cases, simplify coding complexities, and enhance skills development. As part of their commitment, IBM and HCLTech aim to train 10,000 engineers and architects in IBM’s innovative AI technologies on the WatsonX platform, fostering skill enhancement and facilitating the creation of new AI applications.

Clients of both companies will benefit from access to educational resources and training modules covering IBM’s Watson-based technologies, including WatsonX.ai, WatsonX.data, WatsonX.governance, WatsonX Code Assistants, WatsonX Orchestrate, and WatsonX Assistant.

Stephen Smith, IBM’s General Manager for Service Partners in the IBM ecosystem, highlighted the importance of promoting responsible adoption of Generative AI solutions through collaborations with service partners like HCLTech. He emphasized that the Generative AI Centre of Excellence aims to empower joint clients to rapidly explore and engineer AI solutions tailored to their business challenges.

Alan Flower, EVP and Global Head of AI & Cloud Native Labs at HCLTech, outlined plans to integrate WatsonX into HCLTech’s Gen AI suite of solutions, known as HCLTech AI Force, to support code modernization and innovation. Flower underscored that expanding their collaboration with IBM will accelerate the exploration of AI’s potential, enabling HCLTech to develop differentiated offerings using IBM’s cutting-edge technology.

This partnership underscores a broader trend in the tech industry, where companies like Salesforce are establishing AI centers to foster innovation among customers and partners while enhancing skill sets through advanced training programs.
